SEGRO – Road Safety campaign 2008/09
In the summer of 2009, SEGRO launched an initiative to provide the workers at Heywood Distribution Park with a free service that allowed them to get a range of various health checks to make sure they were fit and healthy. In conjunction with Groundwork Rochdale, SEGRO arranged for a health fair to be held at the park on the 19th June 2009 to coincide with Men’s health week. Groundwork Rochdale helped to host the health day, that offered workers on the park the chance to get a range of health checks, including blood pressure, cholesterol testing and dietary advice. The initiative was a great success and further health days for workers were arranged at some of the bigger occupiers on the park. During this campaign, SEGRO showed its support for one of Heywood’s Olympic swimming heroes, Kerri Anne Payne. Kerri helped SEGRO to endorse the campaign for getting people active and healthy on the Park by coming down to the health day to support the team. Kerri and SEGRO also showed their support to the Argos workers, which volunteered to paint a local boxing club in a deprived area of Rochdale that was in need of a re-vamp. |
