SEGRO – Design a mascot campaign 2007
In 2007, SEGRO launched an initiative to find budding young artists in the Rochdale area. The competition was launched with the local school children to design a special mascot for Heywood Distribution Park. SEGRO launched the competition with the Heywood Advertiser and four of the local schools, to design a suitable mascot for the park. Throughout the competition, the Heywood Advertiser visited the schools and documented the children drawing their ideas. Once the colourful designs were drawn, the children gave their mascot a name and character. The Park manager, David Driver was heavily involved in the competition, visiting the schools and helping to judge the competition. The final panel was made up of representatives of SEGRO, Roland Dransfield PR and the Heywood Advertiser. The winning mascot, by Ben Stephenson (age 7) from Hopwood Community School, was displayed on a big board on Heywood Distribution Park and the participating schools received £2,000 each to spend on art materials. |
